Cure for Pulmonary Hypertension

     5th Annual Walk & Roll

SEPTEMBER 10, 2011

11 a.m. is when the fun begins
Wadsworth Shelter at Sandrun  Metro Park
1400 Sand Run Rd., Akron, Ohio 44313-4746

We are planning a Fun Walk for a Cure and Awareness of Pulmonary Hypertension.  Join us for a 6 minute walk or longer.  We may be able to walk by ourselves, or we many need a walker or a wheelchair or we may have someone walk for us. We will be there.  Those of you with healthy lungs who would like to walk may walk longer to help us raise awareness about this disease.  So Let’s WALK and ROLL together.  Join us for a picnic; door prizes; and a goody bag which will have a shirt, hat and other surprises.

Please register early so we have your shirt size and a reliable food count.

Symptoms of PH may include:  Shortness of breath with minimal exertion, chest pain, unusual fatigue, a dry cough, edema, heart palpitations, fainting and dizzy spells.

The disease, described as "progressive and fatal", causes blood vessels in the lungs to thicken, restricting blood flow therefore making the right side of the heart overwork and lead to heart failure.  It can be a silent killer but is also treatable and therefore prolong your life.  There is hope and this disease is doable.  For years lung transplants were the only treatment for pulmonary arterial hypertension and just a few short years ago there were only two medications available for treatment.  Today through research, there are 9 available treatments and a number are still in trial.

This is our fund raiser, start saving that loose change or put a dollar or two in a jar each week.  Ask 10 friends for $10. or 20 friends for $5... If any one wants to write out a check have it made payable to the Pulmonary Hypertension Association with CAPHS written on the memo line.  I will mail them to the Association.

If you don't want to register on line or if you are unable to attend and would like to make a donation you may forward a check to me at 330 College Ave., Grove City, PA  16127.  Checks should be made payable to the Pulmonary Hypertension Association.
If you would rather register by mail, please include your T-Shirt size.

To Register: <- click  $15 per person or $25 for a phamily up to 4.  $10 each additional family member or friend.  To make a secure donation (<- click donation) if you cannot attend.

Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
Yours for a CURE,
